The very art of bringing leftover fabrics, ribbons, and beads to life in the form of a Teddy Bear, is very exciting, and each of these bears is uniquely different in every way. The link between hand made, hand sewn teddy bears and Buxton was a natural fit, given that this is where I learned the craft.

BuxtonBears hand made teddy bears has expanded to include the elegant hand made elephant, and hand made wondrous Luv Dove. All are completely hand sewn in Canada.

One thing my Nana & Mother taught me was to never waste, including all things to do with sewing. This is where my teddy bears, elephants and birds shine with distinction. I source all my materials, from leftover fabrics, odds & ends, one off’s, bits and pieces, ribbons, buttons ‘n’ beads, a broken necklace, an old shirt, or anywhere your imagination takes you. My inspiration is as far as my imagination goes. In order to preserve the uniqueness, I don’t ever reproduce the same bear, bird or elephant as the majority of the fabrics, will be unattainable again.

** There are 6 steps to making a Buxton Bear; cutting, sewing & turning, filling, assembling, decorating, and final finishing touches. The whole process is quite lengthy, therefore production time can take between 4-10 weeks, so order well in advance.
